Membership in the Kiwanis Club of Tysons is a rewarding experience. Although anyone in the community may join us in our efforts to serve our community, full membership brings a wealth of opportunities. As a member, you receive a full range of communications from our club and the larger Kiwanis organization, including online newsletters and magazines delivered by mail. You have the opportunity to assume leadership roles, committee assignments, and other roles that the club depends upon to be effective. There are also opportunities for members to attend workshops and conventions to learn how to become more effective in serving the local community.
 

Member Information

Members join our club as recent college graduates or as experienced professionals. Most of our current members are between their early 20’s through their 40’s. When you join the Kiwanis Club of Tysons, you join a highly motivated, well-performing group. Many of our members have chosen to assume leadership roles within our district, which comprises all Kiwanis clubs in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC. Club members establish professional networks with other Kiwanians as well as enduring friendships.

Club Swag

• As a new member, you will receive a free club t-shirt and recognized as a club member at events. You will also get access to our club’s portal. The portal is used to stay up to date on club events, sign up for projects/socials, maintain membership directory of contact information, and vote on club issues.

Networking Opportunities

• The Kiwanis Club of Tysons, VA is part of Division 2 of the Capital District of Kiwanis International. As a member, you will have the opportunity to network with peers throughout the Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC area. The club interclubs with other Kiwanis clubs in Northern Virginia as well as attends monthly Divisional Council Meetings, annual Regional Mid-Winter conferences, annual District Conventions, and annual International Conventions.

Exclusive Discounts

• Our club pays a portion of registration costs for our members to attend the Regional Conference and Annual Capital District Convention at a discounted rate. All Kiwanis members also receive nationwide benefits detailed here.

Membership Dues

The Kiwanis membership year runs from October 1 to September 30. Dues vary depending on awards you’ve received from Kiwanis International, if you were a former youth member, and several other factors.

Members have the option of paying half their dues in October and half in April or paying in full in October. Initial dues are prorated depending on the month you initial you join.
