5k for Food for Others
September 27, 20257:00 am - 9:30 amTysons Corner Center PenFed PlazaThis event is Food for Other's largest fundraiser of the year and brings together the local community for a morning racing against hunger here in Fairfax County and Northern Virginia. They have 500+ community members join us at Tysons Corner Center where they hold the Runner's Village on the PenFed Plaza with the race taking place around the mall. With this, they need all the support possible to make the event happen including 20 course marshals that help guide runners out on the race course and help cheer everyone on. The shift would begin around 7am with everything wrapping up by 9:30am, where everyone meet with vendors/sponsors at the Runner's Village as well as enjoy some breakfast. Food for Others
October 15, 20256:00 pm - 8:00 pmFood For Others, 2938 Prosperity Ave, Fairfax, VA 22031, USASponsored by the Tysons Kiwanis Foundation, come out on Wednesday to pack Power Packs at the Food for Others Warehouse in Merrifield.
The Power Pack Program provides weekend meals to roughly 3,800 students at 44 Fairfax County schools each week during the school year. The weekend meal pack, which contains two items each for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus two snacks and two drinks, helps alleviate a child’s hunger and allows them to come to school on Monday morning fed, focused, and ready to learn.
