January 5, 4pm – 7pm
Christ Lutheran Church – 3810 Meredith Drive Fairfax
About the Fairfax Hypothermia Program:
The Hypothermia Prevention and Response Program began in 2003 as a life-saving effort by local faith-based communities to serve those experiencing homelessness in Fairfax County and City.
Twelve years later, the primary focus of the Hypothermia Prevention Program remains unchanged: to prevent death and injury to people in Fairfax County who are homeless during periods of cold weather while encouraging guests to take steps towards self-sufficiency and stability as much as possible.
We will be making a dinner for 30+ residents staying at Christ Lutheran Church during their sponsored Hypothermia week. We are looking for at least 6 volunteers to help make this project a success. Once we have served the guests, we will have an opportunity to share in the same meal and learn the stories of the guests.
4PM Meal Prep; 6PM Dinner; 7PM Cleanup
If you can stay later, play games for the evening shift from 7-10PM!

Food for Others
Sponsored by the Tysons Kiwanis Foundation, come out on Wednesday to pack Power Packs at the Food for Others Warehouse in Merrifield.
The Power Pack Program provides weekend meals to roughly 3,800 students at 44 Fairfax County schools each week during the school year. The weekend meal pack, which contains two items each for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus two snacks and two drinks, helps alleviate a child’s hunger and allows them to come to school on Monday morning fed, focused, and ready to learn.
